CHANG CHIH-HUNG
Chih-Hung Chang was born in 1987 in Taipei, Taiwan. He began his piano lessons at the age of 8 and debuted in Taiwan at 12. In 2005, he was accepted by Joseph Haydn Konservatorium Eisenstadt and studied piano with Prof.Dr.Stanislaw Tichonow, where he already graduated from his 1st Diploma with honors. In 2008, he received the Bösendorfer-Scholarship. Additionally, through a cooperation with the University for Performing Arts in Bratislava, he received his Bachelor of Arts with honors in the Class from Prof. Ida Cernecka. In 2014, he finished his Master program with honors in the University for Music and Performing Arts Graz with Prof. Markus Schirmer.
Chih-Hung has received awards at several piano competitions, including the 3rd prize of the Baroque Youth Piano Competition in Taiwan and in 2008, the 2nd prize of the 9th Valsesia Musica JunioresInternational Competition in Italy. In both 2010 and 2011, he received 1st prizes at the International Competition of Young Performers under the International Forum "Musical Performance and Pedagogics” , he later received Grand Prix in 2015.
Apart from his achievements in classical music, he has also enrolled in the PhD program at the Institute for Culture Management and Gender Studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
During these past few years, Chih-Hung has been invited to play in various concerts and music festivals in Austria including performing at the Bösendorfer Hall, Haydn Hall, Franz-Liszt-Saal. In April 2015, Chang performed as a soloist with the Pazifik Jungendorchester during the Wiener Bezirksfestwochen. He has also been invited to perform in the UK, Czech Republic, Belgium, the USA, Slovakia and Taiwan.
